Since you have a samsung tv chances are you have a samsung blu ray player as well & the app should still work on there as well as on the playstation 3 which is what im using now. Spotify has been available for Smart TV users for a while. So far, both Spotify Free and Premium members have been able to access Spotify’s massive music collections from mobile, speakers, and Samsung TV. However, If you are on the free plan you will still have to put up ads while listening, and Premium is ad-free. 2014 and earlier Samsung Smart TVs will still be equipped with an older version of the Spotify app, with Premium only features, but Spotify says there will be updates coming soon. You can play Spotify directly from your TV, or by using your phone, tablet, or desktop as a remote.
To see if your TV supports the Spotify app, go to the app store on your TV and search for Spotify. If your TV isn't listed, you can upgrade it with a soundbar or streamer that supports Spotify Connect.

Get started
- Download Spotify from your TV app store.
- Log in one of these three ways to play:
- With Spotify Connect.
- With your Spotify email address and password.
Note: If you usually log in with Facebook, use Spotify Connect to log in instead. - With a PIN. Select LOG IN WITH PIN. Then, on your phone or computer, go to www.spotify.com/pair and enter the pin you see on your screen.
You can listen to Spotify on your TV by using the Spotify app on your phone as a remote.

With AirPlay, you can use your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, or Mac to play Spotify on an Apple TV, AirPlay compatible speaker, or another Mac.
Google Chromecast lets you play Spotify from your phone, tablet, desktop, or web browser to a TV.

Play directly from the TV app
If the Spotify TV app isn’t working for you:
- Make sure your TV is connected to the internet.
- Check your internet connection is strong. Try playing something else to test it.
- Check your TV app store for any updates to the Spotify app.
- Check your TV's software is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with the manufacturer for how to check and update the version software.
- Check your TV is supported by Spotify. You can check this at Spotify Everywhere or with the device’s manufacturer.
Still not working?
- Restart your TV.
- Restart your WiFi.
- Delete the Spotify app, then reinstall it onto your TV.
- If possible, try a different WiFi connection.

Play from a phone or tablet
If Spotify Connect isn’t working for you:
- Make sure your TV is supported by Spotify. You can check this at Spotify Everywhere or with the device’s manufacturer.
- If this is the first time playing to the TV from your phone/tablet, make sure they're both connected to the same WiFi network. (E.g. if your device’s connected to 4G instead of WiFi, it probably won't work).
- Make sure you have the latest version of Spotify in your device.
- Check all devices' software is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with your devices' manufacturer for how to check and update the version software.
- Check you're not trying to play local files, as they aren’t supported by Connect.
