Spotify Mobile App Premium Not Working

Working

For steps to play Spotify in your car, check out Spotify in the car.

Upgraded to premium, have the receipt. Does not seem to be working, still have ads and still says to upgrade. I tried clicking upgrade again and it showed I was already premium, I've tried everything I've found so far on this site and no dice. I've seen many similar posts. Various solutions. Hey @52nramfk-szj Welcome to the Spotify Community! When you get premium, you should get a receipt in your email. If you havent gotten that yet, it is because your bank is still hasnt been officially charged for your premium. Give it at least 48 hours.

Note: Some cars require Spotify Premium.

Mobile Carrier: Metro PCS; Not Rooted; Please note that I've had the same carrier for the past two years that I've had Spotify premium. I did recently get this piece of garbage phone, but Spotify was working just fine on it until a few days ago, and only now will it not connect to the internet over 4G. On wifi it is fine. But also account on web doesn’t show, that my premium is activated, but on mobile acc info show that premium is activated. It seems like my account don’t synchronize with other devices. May it’s because I have activated premium on phone. Thanks for reply.

Apparently (from rumors, I'm not a modder myself so I can't comment for sure) it's because the spotify app is a mess (which I believe based on usage w/ official spotify), and it's gotten to the point where it's more trouble than it's worth as far as cred goes, which is the reason a lot of modders do it in the first place. Same thing with.

  • Make sure your device has sufficient power.
  • Check the software for both devices is up-to-date. If you don't know, check with your devices' manufacturer for how to check and update the software version.
Note: To update your car’s media system, you may need to reach out to your car’s manufacturer.
  • Try turning Bluetooth off on other nearby Bluetooth devices you aren’t currently using.
Note: Most Bluetooth audio devices can’t connect to multiple source devices at a time. Be sure to disconnect any current connections to use it with another device.
  • Try closing the Spotify app on your device while establishing the connection.

Once you’ve checked the above, try restarting the connection:

  1. Turn off the Bluetooth on your car’s media system.
  2. With the Bluetooth settings on your mobile/tablet switched on, delete the information of the car.
Tip: The setting to delete is often called ‘forget’.
  3. Turn Bluetooth off and back on for your mobile/tablet.
  4. Turn the Bluetooth on your car’s media system back on.
  5. Allow approximately 20 seconds for your mobile/tablet to detect your car. Once it appears, select it to pair.
  6. Open Spotify and play something. The sound should now come from your speaker.

Didn't work?

You may need to set your car as a default device or allow media sharing. Try looking for those options in the Bluetooth settings of the device you’re playing from.

If the problem persists, check out the support site for your devices’ manufacturers.

If your aux or USB cable isn't working, make sure it's the correct cable for your device. Even if it is, it's worth trying a different one in case it's damaged.

If you’re connecting via USB cable, make sure your car’s media system is updated to the latest firmware version.
